"THE SUM OF THY WORD IS TRUTH" (Ps. 119:160).

A Daily Bible Teaching Radio Program From Jim Andrews: Pastor, Teacher, and Author

John

Recently a radio listener called me and told me he has “just recently been born again.” Then he asked where he should start reading his Bible. Like many who must answer that question, I recommended the Gospel of John, not because it is “better” than other Scriptures, but because of John’s stated reason in writing it: “Therefore many other signs Jesus also performed in the presence of the disciples, which are not written in this book; but these have been written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing you may have life in His name” (John 20:30). Given that authorial design of the Holy Spirit (through John), I love to teach this particular gospel. Its teaching is simple, yet so profound.

Editor’s note: Pastor Jim relied upon a commentary (The Gospel according to John Commentary [Pillar New Testament Commentary Series], 1990) by then-trustworthy scholar, Donald A. (or D.A.) Carson for one of his resources in preparing these programs. Unfortunately, as is often the case with theologians, Carson’s once-orthodox evangelical views have since drastically changed. Here are three articles that explain his defection from the faith, including in the promotion of the Trojan-horse deception known as Same-Sex Attracted (SSA) Christianity.

As a result of Pastor Jim’s repeated references to D.A. Carson in the original recordings, the editor of this program was unable to eliminate them without disrupting the flow of information. Therefore, all references to Donald or D.A. Carson were revised to simply, “Carson,” and any unnecessary praiseworthy statements about his insights were deleted.
