I am in Tucson and have been listening to the archives for several years now. As in Pastor Andrew’s book, “Dispatches from the Front Lines,” this lesson has some applicable gems that he has gleaned from his fifty years of shepherding. In the context to today’s scripture story, he was able to clearly illustrate how we are to trust God because everything depends on him; but then we are to make decisions and act as if everything depends upon us. Not many are able to discern and then describe this need for balance, as opposed to our simply disengaging from action in times of stress and hope that things will somehow simply work out in the end.
