Ephesians is one of those NT books that many believers like to call their favorite. For me personally, it ranks right up there for sentimental reasons, if nothing else. That is because it was the first book I ever tried to expound as an interim pastor one summer in the midst of my seminary training. Whether or not it was originally written to the church at Ephesians or was intended as a circular letter (there is a case to be made for that) is pretty much irrelevant, for its message is for all times and places. The grand themes of this epistle have been aptly described as the wealth, the walk and the warfare of the Church. No wonder so many find in it great riches to ponder and assimilate.
