Micah

24 September 2018 - 5 October 2018

The OT prophet Micah, contemporary to Isaiah in Judea and Hosea in Samaria (the Northern kingdom) appeared on the scene in the 8th century BC. He forecast the downfall of the Northern and Southern kingdoms as a result of their sins and transgressions of God’s law, a common theme in all the prophets whom God raised up to warn Israel of the consequences of their unfaithfulness to God, while at the same time always holding out the hope of salvation to the faithful. For contemporary believers, Micah’s messages are timeless in the sense that God is changeless. He honors those who honor Him and He eventually brings disaster upon those who dishonor Him. Nothing ever has or ever will change about that principle. For that reason we need to take careful heed to Micah as well as to all the prophets.
