What a friend we have in Jesus! These passages highlight the comfort and assurance that our sympathetic and Great High Priest provides. For the writer to the Hebrews proclaims in 4:15, “We do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who has been tempted in all things as we are, yet without sin. Therefore let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” For our Lord Jesus is always interceding for us, as we see demonstrated in His High Priestly prayer in John 17.
