Grace: What It Is and What It Isn't

In biblical terminology, grace means God’s unmerited favor. It means that, despite our anti-God nature and daily rebellion towards our Creator, God extends to everyone, in love, the offer of His forgiveness and the hope of eternal life. Thus, when we trust in Christ’s atoning sacrifice, we are free from the penalty of sin. But even though we are set free from sin’s penalty, we are not given a license to sin, as many false teachers currently proclaim. Why not? Because we have been born again and empowered by the Holy Spirit to walk in holiness.
