Jewish Objections to Christ

The Apostle Paul, in Romans 9:1-3, says “I am telling the truth in Christ, I am not lying, my conscience testifies with me in the Holy Spirit, that I have great sorrow and unceasing grief in my heart. For I could wish that I myself were accursed, separated from Christ for the sake of my brethren, my kinsmen according to the flesh . . .” These passages will help us witness to our Jewish family and friends.

We will discover that the following truths and principles are grounded and anticipated in the Hebrew Scriptures: 1) Salvation is by grace through faith alone, apart from the works of the Law, 2) A better covenant is foretold in the Old Testament itself, and thus the sacrificial and priestly system of worship would become obsolete, 3) The Messiah will be the fulfillment of those former Old Testament shadows, 4) The coming Immanuel would be God in the flesh, and 5) The Messiah would be rejected by His own people and die as a suffering Servant for our sins. Therefore, no Jewish person should be scandalized by the Messiah, because He is superior to anyone and anything that they were accustomed to in the Old Covenant. (ALSO SEE: ENTIRE SERIES IN HEBREWS)
